Hungarian Brewery Wins Prestigious International Award

MTI-Hungary Today 2022.11.21.

Etyek Beer Manufacture’s Princessin Edeck – Királyleányka Sparkling Ale won a silver medal and Just for fun – Rozsos double IPA (India Pale Ale) won a bronze medal among more than 40 countries and almost 700 products at the 26th International Beer Challenge in London, the company told MTI.

The Hungarian company competed against products from Germany, Belgium, Great Britain and the United States, countries dominating the craft beer market.

The Edeck series was launched back in 2019 with Etyeki Kúria, a Hungarian vineyard near Budapest, and the beer that has just won a silver medal was produced in collaboration with Nádas Wine Manufacture, the company said. The bronze-medal-winning unfiltered rye double IPA was described as being made perfect by four types of hops in addition to special malts.

The awards for the International Beer Challenge 2022 were presented at a gala ceremony in London at the weekend.

Orsolya Radányi, head brewer and owner of the Etyek Beer Manufacture, told MTI that the family business was founded in 2015. Four people work at the Etyek site, where 12 different types of beer are produced. She added that the company also enters international competitions to gain reputation and to help with exports.
