Hundreds of Organizations to Benefit from the “Strengthening Diaspora Program”

Hungary Today 2025.05.30.

The “Strengthening Diaspora Program,” with a budget of 500 million forints (1.2 million euros), received 221 applications, of which 197 were valid, and all of them will be supported by the government, the State Secretary for national policy at the Prime Minister’s Office announced in a video.

Lőrinc Nacsa said that they are grateful to Hungarians living in the diaspora for doing everything they can, even hundreds or thousands of kilometers away from their homeland in a foreign language environment, to ensure that the Hungarian language and Hungarian identity are not lost, but become stronger.

Not only do they preserve it, but through their work in weekend schools, church and scout communities, and Hungarian organizations, they also pass on the Hungarian language and culture to future generations,

he emphasized. He added that the government is doing everything it can to help them in this difficult but extremely important work, which is why they have announced their call to the program again this year.

Thanks to our program, nearly 200 projects, events, developments, and equipment purchases will be realized in Hungarian communities around the world in the coming period, strengthening the local Hungarian community, and by extension, the entire Hungarian nation,”

Nacsa underlined.

The Kossuth Foundation in Washington, the Hungarian Reformed community in Cleveland, the scouts in Montreal, Hungarian schoolchildren in Brisbane, folk dancers in Vienna, and the Swiss Hungarian House Foundation all serve goals that contribute to the long-term strengthening of Hungarians living in the diaspora, the politician said.
