Minister of Economic Development Márton Nagy met Huawei executives on Tuesday and stressed the importance of digitalization.

The meeting was attended by Jim Lu, President of Huawei Europe, Gao Weijie, CEO of the Hungary and Western Balkans region, and Jason Xie, CEO of the Hungarian subsidiary of the Chinese technology company.

Huawei has a presence in Hungary with all its business units, and the group’s largest logistics and manufacturing base outside China, the Huawei European Supply Centre, is located in Hungary, where more than 2,000 people are employed,”

the ministry recalled in a statement.

Márton Nagy noted that “the war and misguided sanctions have caused serious damage to the global economy”, increasing uncertainty and increasing mistrust. In times like these, cooperation with strategic partners like Huawei is particularly needed, he added.
