The 101st Hungarian Derby was a wonderful celebration of a fantastic sport with a long history, said Minister of Defense Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky at the awards ceremony of the prestigious competition in Kincsem Park.
The winner of the 101st Hungarian Derby was Amore Boy, with Slovakian jockey Jaroslav Línek. Second place went to Lord Winter, with Stanislav Georgiev in the saddle, and third place went to Real Hope, ridden by Ádám Benkő.
I am sure that as long as there are Hungarians under the sun and horses out there in the world, we will celebrate this race together for centuries to come,”
stressed Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, who presented the winner with a wreath.
The top six winners received cash prizes totaling HUF 25 million (EUR 66,836).
