Óbuda University (Budapest) is cooperating with the Wuxi High-Tech Zone in China in the establishment of a high-tech innovation center. The parties signed an agreement on joint innovation and business development programs on Monday, Óbuda University announced.
The joint idea is linked to the “New Silk Road Program” initiative of the Hungarian and Chinese Governments, and dozens of other countries, according to the statement. During the course of the cooperation, the China-Hungary Torch Innovation Center will be implemented with the collaboration of Óbuda University.
The university-invested science parks could serve as a model for the countries of the “Belt and Road” project,
they stated.
Under the agreement, the parties will establish a long-term technology cooperation mechanism in the industry-university-research triangle to improve technological outcomes.
The university research and development environment will greatly facilitate this, they added.
The agreement signed by Gu Guotung, Deputy Director of the Wuxi High-Tech Zone, and Levente Kovács, Rector of the University, is part of the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting technology and talent exchange between China and Hungary.
