Based on previous decisions by the government, starting from September 1, the state will provide graduating secondary school students with a category B driving license free of charge.

This initiative will include road safety and first-aid education. The Hungarian Defense Forces will support the practical training, and, in collaboration with selected institutions, will begin the necessary courses for obtaining the licenses as early as autumn, according to the Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry stated that the pilot program for the project is currently in the process of training designated instructors, which is being conducted by CTI Nonprofit Ltd. in accordance with relevant legal provisions.

Soldiers from the Hungarian Defense Forces can participate in the training of these professional instructors if they meet the following criteria: they must be over 23 years of age, possess a secondary school leaving certificate, hold a valid category B driving license, and have passed a medical fitness test within the last two years.

The ministry added that the training, including the qualifying exams, is scheduled to be completed by August. The training of the students will be carried out based on a cooperation agreement between the Hungarian Defense Forces and secondary schools.
