Government to Cooperate with US Space Solutions Company

MTI-Hungary Today 2025.02.19.

The Hungarian government will sign an agreement with the US space solutions company Voyager Technologies, which will give Hungarian students the opportunity to participate in the company’s programs, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced in New York on Wednesday.

In connection with the planned meeting with the President of Voyager Technologies, US space solutions company, the minister said that the government’s important goal is to rebuild economic cooperation with the United States. In this context, the largest ever R&D investment managed by the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) was announced last week, and an agreement will now be signed with Voyager Technologies, a world leader in the space industry, which will also participate in the construction of a new commercial space station, the ministry wrote in a statement.

The agreement will give Hungarian secondary school and university students the opportunity to participate in Voyager’s promotional programs on space exploration and the space industry,

he said.

The minister noted that the University of Óbuda (Budapest) and the American company are already working on a project that will enable the sustainability of space exploration, space travel, and space station stays, so that environmental protection and space industry go hand in hand.

“Hungarian businesses will have the opportunity to participate in Voyager’s incubator programs, i.e. its business development, start-up development programs. (…) Voyager is now also looking strongly at Hungary as one of the R&D areas for its future activities,” he stressed. “Today we will be discussing how Voyager and Hungary will work even more closely together in the coming period,” he added.
