On the second day of the Budapest Global Dialogue 2025 conference, Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, emphasized Hungary’s commitment to supporting families, Index reported.
In his speech, he highlighted that in the near future, five percent of Hungary’s GDP will be spent on supporting families, which will be one of the highest rates in the European Union.
Supporting families is not just an economic issue, but also a guarantee for the future of the nation,”
the Minister said.
According to FM Szijjártó, this measure is part of a national policy that seeks to preserve Hungarian sovereignty and strengthen the domestic economy. The Minister emphasized that Hungary will continue to decide for itself who can enter the country and will protect the well-being of its families.
He also pointed out that the country pursues economic neutrality and successfully attracts investors from both the West and the East. In recent years, foreign investment has reached record levels, further strengthening Hungary’s position in the global economy.
Péter Szijjártó also criticized the European Commission’s proposed ban on Russian energy imports, which he said would violate Hungary’s sovereignty, increase energy dependence, and raise utility costs. Overall, the Minister made it clear that Hungary prioritizes support for families and the protection of national interests, while remaining an active player in the community of European patriots.
“We must triple our efforts to preserve our sovereignty! We must continue to fight a patriotic war of independence!” Szijjártó stated.
