Hungary is to host the starting stages of the 2022 Giro d’Italia, portal cyclingnews said on Thursday, noting that the three Hungarian stages of the race will be presented in Budapest on Nov. 3.
The 105th edition of the Giro d’Italia will start on May 6 and end on May 29, with the Friday start allowing for an extra rest day and transfer from Hungary to Italy on May 9, cyclingnews said.
Hungary was to have hosted the “Grande Partenza” of the 2020 Giro d’Italia, but the race was postponed because of the pandemic.
