The 33rd Budapest Wine Festival, set to run from September 12 to 15 at Buda Castle’s Royal Palace, will feature a diverse selection of wines from Hungarian and international producers, along with gastronomy, panel discussions, and various events. This year, Georgia will be the guest of honor, showcasing its unique wine culture.
Georgia, known for its eight-thousand-year-old winemaking tradition, will present its amber-colored, skin-fermented white wines, which are still produced using ancient methods. The festival will also highlight Georgian cuisine, including Hachapuri (a cheesy flatbread served with butter and egg yolk).
The event will offer a wide range of gastronomic delights, from international street food to premium local and exotic dishes. Special programs include a Sunday Brunch featuring luxury drinks and champagne rarities.
Visitors can enjoy dance performances, concerts, and panel discussions with prominent winemakers discussing market trends. The VinAgora International Wine Competition and interactive wine tasting spaces will further enhance the festival experience. The Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta will also benefit from the Charity Wine Auction.
