Fuel Prices Continue to Fall

Hungary Today 2023.12.11.

Significant fuel price drop anticipated on Wednesday, holtankoljak.hu reports.

The price of petrol is set to decrease by 9 gross forints per liter, while diesel will see a reduction of 5 gross forints per liter.

Average prices will be:

95 petrol at HUF 564 (EUR 1.47),

diesel at 588 HUF (EUR 1.54) per liter.

Wholesale prices have fallen since last Friday, due to Brent oil price decline, despite the weakening of the forint against the dollar.

Low prices can lead to ‘fuel tourism.’ The average petrol prices in some of the surrounding EU countries are as follows:

in Slovakia EUR 1.57 for petrol and EUR 1.59 for diesel, in Austria EUR 1.54 and EUR 1.65. Romanian motorists pay EUR 1.31 and EUR 1.45 for fuel.

Fuel prices in Germany are significantly higher, with petrol priced at EUR 1.73 and diesel at EUR 1.72, indicating minimal difference between the two fuel types.
