Fuel prices continue to fall, driven by a decrease in Brent oil prices, reports holtankoljak.hu. On Tuesday, the purchase price of petrol and diesel will drop by HUF 2 per liter.
If this change is reflected in prices at the petrol stations, the current average prices (as of December 2, 2024) will decrease further:
As Hungary Today reported, the gap between petrol and diesel prices has been widening in recent months. Diesel prices have remained consistently higher, driven by increased demand for diesel in transportation and agriculture, while petrol prices have been more volatile. This price gap is particularly evident in Hungary, where the cost of diesel is significantly higher than petrol, despite both being influenced by global oil price fluctuations.

The recent drop in Brent oil prices is expected to have a lasting impact on domestic fuel costs. The government’s decision to adjust fuel prices regularly based on market changes could lead to further declines in petrol and diesel prices in the coming weeks. This shift could alleviate pressure on consumers and businesses, who have been facing rising fuel costs in recent months.
With global oil prices expected to remain relatively stable, it is likely that fuel prices in Hungary will continue to decrease.
