This year, Lupa Beach – just a few kilometers north of Budapest – is launching free access for children under 12 and a youth discount for 12-18 year olds at Budapest’s “beach.”
On May 28, families will find a long list of activities to keep them entertained, with activities for children of all ages. There will be a Ninja Warrior obstacle course, laser combat and treasure hunts, archery, and target shooting. If the weather is nice, youngsters can try the water adventure park, sailing and SUP, and glide down the Giant Slide, among other things, but for those who prefer to stay on the beach, there is a sandcastle building competition, or even vegetable gardening, and of course, a whole host of sports: beach volleyball, beach handball, badminton, and petanque, to name but a few.
Lupa has been running Central Europe’s largest wakeboard complex with great success for years, but this year there will be new exciting water features. For example, one of the most spectacular attractions, courtesy of Quadro Watersport, is the Flyboard, a board-like carbon structure on which guests can stand and be propelled up to four to six meters by a water jet. The Jetpack, a kind of “backpack” that lifts adventurous visitors into the air, will work on a similar principle. On top of all this, there will also be a Giant Jetpack, which can seat up to six people at a time and is great fun for children. Likewise, the Slider, which can carry up to four people, providing the thrill of bouncing around the bends in the water. The Slider is similar to the Crazy UFO, but with a seated position.
Visitors can still enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere, palm trees, sandy beaches, and crystal clear waters. The Beach of Fun is a beach center for parents with children, with an enlarged square and shallow water beach area, where little ones can enjoy a variety of games and fun activities, including a water bumper jet, trampoline, and bouncy castle. There will be arts and crafts activities, a crèche, and of course beach sports on the sandy beach with super beach football, beach volleyball, and beach handball courts. There will also be shaded bike storage and a service point for bikes in the Bay. The Lupa bus will continue to shuttle between the city center and Lupa on opening days, while electric trolleys will take passengers arriving by HÉV from the Budakalász stop to the beach entrance.
