At the beginning of October, it became official that Dominik Szoboszlai’s former coach, Jürgen Klopp, will continue to work as Red Bull’s global head of football from January, and will thus also become the boss of RB Leipzig’s Péter Gulácsi and Willi Orbán. In a recent statement, the German manager spoke highly of Willi Orbán, writes Magyar Nemzet.

The former Liverpool head coach will take up an advisory position supporting clubs including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, and New York Red Bulls as the new global head of football at The Red Bull Group from January 2025.

“I was always sure that I would not spend my days doing nothing. To be honest, it is an incredible opportunity for me, I do not know what I could have done that would have been good for everyone,” he noted recently.

Klopp has been criticized by many after his move to Red Bull. In recent weeks, several football lovers have accused the energy drink company of using his money to promote its product through teams. “I see it differently,” Klopp emphasized, who also praised Willi Orbán.

When we (Liverpool FC) played against Leipzig in the Champions League, they did not have any players that other clubs could not buy, and they also have real club legends in Willi Orbán, Kevin Kampl, and Yussuf Poulsen.”

Klopp was Liverpool’s head coach from 2015 to 2024, and managed the team in 489 matches, including winning the English league (Premier League) title in 2019, and the UEFA Champions League in 2020.
