Hungary’s foreign ministry on Friday said it has signed a cooperation agreement with the Hungarian Art Academy (MMA) on supporting cultural diplomacy programs.
The purpose of the long-term agreement is to formalize cooperation between the two institutions on the promotion of Hungarian art abroad. The joint programs will mainly be organized with the involvement of Hungarian cultural centers — the Liszt Institutes — which will devote special attention to the promotion of the MMA’s artists.
The MMA has organized some 150 projects abroad over the past decade in around 200 locations, including Belgrade, Seoul, Krakow, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Beijing, Sofia and Tehran.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Gábor Richly, secretary-general of the MMA, and Márton Schőberl, the foreign ministry’s deputy state secretary for cultural diplomacy.
