Foreign Minister Promises “Going on the Offensive” at CPAC 2025

Hungary Today 2025.05.30.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has opened the second day of CPAC Hungary 2025 with a speech promising to end the government’s defensive politics and attacking the global deep state instead.

“We were on the defensive before 2025, but now we are going on the offensive”, Péter Szijjártó promised. In previous years, we had to defend ourselves from the war in Ukraine. They have been trying to drag us into this conflict for three years, but we have successfully resisted.

We are not sending weapons there, we are not sending Hungarian people’s money to a lost war!”

For three years, we have been arguing for a ceasefire and peace talks. Those who lecture us are now arguing for peace talks in the same way. What hypocrisy! But in reality, they are still fomenting war, just to delay accountability. But accountability will happen, Szijjártó warned.

We also had to protect our identity from illegal migration, he continued. Those who present themselves as champions of democracy, who argue for the rule of law, themselves disregard international law. Because international law says that those who have to flee must remain in the territory of the first safe country. For those who stormed our southern borders, Hungary is not the first safe country.

The fence will therefore remain, and Hungary will remain a migrant-free country.

For all this, we are paying Brussels a daily fine of 1 million Euros for not wanting to let migrants in. At a meeting, the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset said that “this is the best investment in your security”.

We also had to protect our children from increasingly aggressive gender propaganda. These organizations cannot go into Hungarian kindergartens and schools and convince young children that “today you are a girl, but tomorrow you can be a boy.”

The previous Washington administration viewed Hungary as an enemy and openly sought to overthrow the Hungarian government. But they failed. Now Brussels is taking Washington’s place in this effort. They are imposing political and financial sanctions to set up a puppet government in Hungary. A government that would give up Hungary’s sovereignty, be ready to drag Ukraine into the European Union, and be ready to tear down the southern border fence. But just like Washington’s attempt, Brussels’ attempt will also fail.

Now, however, is the time to go on the offensive. Donald Trump has cut off the global liberal mainstream’s money supply. We will not allow foreign money to influence Hungarian politics, which is why we are introducing a transparency law. We will not allow the Ukrainians to be pushed into the EU over our heads. We will not give them Hungarian taxpayers’ money, we will not destroy our agriculture, and we will not allow the Ukrainian mafia to turn our country into a transit point. We will defend Hungary, we will win, promised the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
