In Veszprém, a 74-year-old man poured accelerant liquid on himself and then set it on fire, suffering injuries so severe that he died at the scene.
The incident took place at the Veszprém County Government Office. No one else was injured in the fire, but the flames spread to the furniture in the office building, causing considerable material damage.
According to the Veszprém Megyei Hírportál or VEOL (“Veszprém County News Portal”), several ambulances and fire engines arrived on the scene, along with the police. VEOL posted the following video about this:
People have been evacuated from the fire and smoke. Witnesses said it was horrible to see the person burning.
The Veszprém Police Station initiated criminal proceedings in the case with the charge of public nuisance.
