More than half a million people so far have signed the ruling alliance’s “Stop Gyurcsány! Stop Karácsony!” petition launched on Sept. 1 ahead of next year’s general election, Fidesz’s communications head said on Thursday.
“We launched the petition less than three weeks ago and have gathered the signatures of more than 500,000 people who clearly reject the left-wing political aggression represented by Ferenc Gyurcsány,” István Hollik told journalists. He added that rejection of the former government’s “failed policy of tax increases and pro-immigration policy” was widely rejected.
He said the election next spring would decide whether or not the “Gyurcsány era of failure” would return.
