Festival for Unique, Non-Verbal Performances Opens its Doors

MTI-Hungary Today 2023.06.07.

Between June 9 and 11, the youngest audiences will be the main focus of the Senses International Theater Festival organized by the Kolibri Theater, focusing on performances based on sensory perception for 0-6 year olds.

The festival is the third in a series of events organized by the theater as part of the 10th International Theater Olympics. The mostly non-verbal productions from India, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain will engage audiences through movement, music, sound, color, and light.

Through different forms of theater art, young and old, spectators and actors together rediscover a symbolic world of colors, sounds, materials, and movement,

states the theater’s website.
As they point out, the artists who create outstanding productions in this special category are convinced that creativity and creation are not a matter of age, but of curiosity. Art festivals for young people of all ages, which are still a rarity in Hungary, are spreading throughout Europe.

The Kolibri Children’s and Youth Theater and the Eötvös10 Cultural Center will host the festival, which will showcase the best of the genre.
