The exhibition “175 years of the Hungarian Defense Forces”, opening in the Bálna venue in the capital, gives a glimpse into the past, present and future of the Hungarian Defense Forces – said the Defense Minister on Tuesday at the opening of the exhibition in Budapest.
Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky emphasized that the Institute and Museum of Military History had embarked on a new path when it set out to present the 175-year-old Hungarian Defense Forces in a non-traditional way, focusing on its past but also on its present and giving a glimpse into its future. As he said:
the exhibition shows that the cause of the Hungarian Defense Forces is not a distant, abstract and difficult to understand activity, but is part of our everyday life, if only because of the Russian-Ukrainian war in the neighborhood, which has changed our sense of security to a great extent.
Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky stressed that the exhibition is an experience, taking us from the hussars to the everyday life of the 21st century digital armed forces, as we can see a combat vehicle manufactured in Zalaegerszeg and meet a combat robot dog.
The exhibition will be open from 9 May.
