Enrique Iglesias will give a pop concert in the new Budapest sports hall, MVM Dome, inaugurated for this year’s European Men’s Handball Championship. The Spanish world star will travel to Europe for only three concerts, one of them in Budapest.
In January 2022, Hungary will co-host the European Men’s Handball Championship, and Budapest has also received a new sports hall for the event, the MVM Dome, built with 116 billion forints (more than 3 million euros) of taxpayers’ money.
In July 2020, it was announced that the 20,000-seat stadium will be owned by Ferencváros. The president of the FTC, Gábor Kubatov, has now announced on Facebook the first musical performance in the hall: a concert by Enrique Iglesias will be held on June 12, 2022.
The Grammy-winning Spanish singer last performed in Hungary in March 2018. The tickets were sold out in a short time and he played two sold-out concerts.
Kubatov also wrote that another headliner will be announced this week.
