By 9am on Sunday, 10.31% of Hungary’s voters, 793,219 people had cast their ballots in the national election, according to figures from the National Election Office (NVI).
Turnout at 9am was highest (11.43pc) in Békés County, in south-east Hungary, and lowest (8.78pc) in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, in the north-east. Turnout in Budapest was 9.61 percent.
Turnout at the last national election was 13.17 percent, following 9.50 percent in 2014.
Referendum – Turnout at 9am 10.17%
By 9am on Sunday, 10.17% of Hungary’s voters, 782,472 people, had cast their ballots in the referendum concerning what the government calls “child-protection law,” according to figures from the National Election Office (NVI).
