The Tranzit Festival will be held again in Tihany on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, with the usual series of presentations, debates and discussions, reports Világgazdaság. The event will also address economic and civilizational challenges, sovereignty, economic issues and the state of European cooperation.
The Kommentár Foundation, the organizer of the event, has previously announced that almost a hundred speakers and thousands of participants will be present, and that all the main right-wing sovereignist communities will be represented at the event, now in its seventh edition.
According to the information, all topics that could help Hungary to become a winner in the current change of the world order will be discussed in Tihany:
civilization challenges, sovereignty, economic issues and the state of European cooperation will be on the agenda.

However, unlike in previous years, this time the debate will not be held by decision-makers, as the opposition parties have not agreed to take part, with the Democratic Coalition, Momentum Movement, Dialogue – The Greens’ Party and several politicians from the Tisza Party declining the invitation. In an interview with Magyar Nemzet, Márton Békés, member of the board of trustees of the Kommentár Foundation, and editor-in-chief of the Kommentár journal, called it an interesting development that, unlike in previous years, no opposition party has agreed to debate with representatives of the government, although Tranzit provides equal opportunities and a worthy platform for this. Márton Békés noted that the right-wingers have their arguments, but they like to listen to others.

Csaba Dömötör, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister, told Mandiner that everything that is important and interesting in politics will be discussed at the festival. He pointed out that it is a sad development that this summer neither Democratic Coalition, nor Momentum Movement, nor Dialogue – The Greens’ Party representatives accepted the invitations to the debate. At other times, opposition politicians demand invitations. “It is a strange dichotomy, not to use the word hypocrisy,” he noted. He also said that several newly elected MPs of the Tisza Party had received invitations to debates, but had turned them down.
The most memorable part of the Tranzit Festival a year ago was the debate in which Viktor Orbán was questioned. The Prime Minister stated that Hungarian people do not need to explain themselves, and that it is a European phenomenon that a political party has been in government for a long time with a majority.
