Chinese vehicle manufacturer Geely‘s van brand Farizon has entered the Hungarian car market, and its first dealer, Duna Autó, has started selling two of its models.
Chinese automotive holding Geely owns a number of car brands, including Volvo and Lotus. Its commercial vehicle business is already present in international markets with the Farizon brand that started its European expansion in 2024. Farizon is committed to promoting zero emission transport with a product portfolio focused on green and intelligent vehicles. Their target is to sell 300,000 electric light commercial vehicles per year in the coming period.
Geely Auto Group has signed an agreement with the Autowallis Group to act as Farizon’s importer in Central and Eastern Europe, bringing the Hungarian company’s brand portfolio to 24. AutoWallis has already seen a big business opportunity in Chinese brands, being one of the first to partner with BYD and MG.
The AutoWallis Group is present in 16 countries in the Central and Eastern European region and recently reported sales of 48,386 vehicles in 2024, an 8% increase compared to the previous year. Its regional role is steadily growing, with more than 60 percent of its HUF 398 billion (EUR 1 billion) turnover last year coming from abroad. The company’s management sees further potential in the region’s car market, where it is seeking to broaden its offering with innovative and popular brands.
Duna Autó is AutoWallis’s first dealer partner in Farizon sales, with more dealerships planned to join.
A few hundred Farizon models could be sold in Hungary in the first year, however, sales will be heavily influenced by the state subsidies for electric vehicles. A share of up to 20% in the electric commercial vehicle segment is realistic for the Farizon brand.
