An exhibition of edible pictures made from chocolate chips will open on March 27 at the Bartók Béla Boulevard KultPont Gallery and Community Space.
Zsolt Tolnai, alias Modoglo, a psychotherapist who makes art on social media, will open his exhibition entitled Sugár, Bébi, Love (Sugar, Baby, Love), which will provide insights into the relationship between art and psyche.
His works evoke the abstract compositions or optical art up close, while from a distance the figurative forms depicted unfold.
The works are made of colorful, edible chocolate chips and candy, using a special grid technique.
The exhibition is accompanied by a charity project. During the ten days of opening, visitors can also take part in the creation of a painting, which will later be sent to the Cirro-Cumulus Development and Therapy Centre (Bárányfelhő Fejesztő- és Terápiás Központ). Visitors will be able to buy the colorful candies that make up the picture and place them in their work.
Their purchase supports the work of the therapy center’s foundation for the development of disadvantaged children.
The exhibition will close with a special event: on the last day of the exhibition on April 6, visitors will be able to dismantle and consume a portrait of Andy Warhol, made from over seven kilograms of candy, which will also be created during the event.
