The MILEX 2025 exercise took place in Hungary for the first time between March 25 and April 10. The aim of the international event that brought together over 850 soldiers, was to test the land-based operational capabilities of the European Union’s battle groups in realistic conditions. Thirteen nations – including Hungarian, German, French, Polish, Spanish, Irish, Croatian, German, Austrian, and Polish soldiers – took part in the exercise. The operations took place at the Pápa Aribase and in the Bakony mountains (western Hungary), where live firing and tactical maneuvers were used to practice joint action and rapid response to crisis situations.
