“Our own military capabilities and specialists are our most important bastions, but strong alliances make us even more resilient,” he stressed.

Therefore, for our long-term cooperation with Saab, we are establishing a Swedish-Hungarian Saab Air Capability Development Center in Budapest, that will be completed by the end of 2025. The institute is a huge opportunity for the Hungarian aerospace industry, in terms of innovation, scientific research and education. It will link government, industry and academia,”

said the State Secretary.

Lars Tossman, Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area Aeronautics at Saab AB, said that with the new office in Budapest, Sweden will deepen its cooperation with Hungary.

“The opening of the new office and the establishment of the Air Capability Development Center is a win-win situation for all of us, whether it is for projects in virtual reality, exploiting the potential of artificial intelligence or software development,” said the vice president. The new center will initially employ 20 to 30 specialists, but in the long term the aim is to increase the number to 100.
