Petrol and diesel prices in Hungary will be raised again, based on a recent forecast by Holtankoljak.hu. This is the second time this week that fuel prices have been increased by retailers, reports Világgazdaság.
According to the fuel price monitoring blog, wholesale prices will be raised further from Friday. This will also affect the price of petrol and diesel. More precisely,
the purchase price of petrol will increase by HUF 5 (1 EUR= 386 HUF) gross, while the purchase price of diesel will rise by HUF 6 gross.
Thus, from the last working day of the week, average fuel prices will be as follows:
The wholesale price increase is expected to be passed on to the retail sector, so prices at petrol stations could rise by the same amount. It should be added, however, that these are average prices that can vary by up to HUF 10-20 per station.
In any case, this is the second time this week that fuel prices have risen. On Monday, it was reported that from Wednesday, the wholesale price of petrol will rise by HUF 4 gross, while diesel will be HUF 5 gross more. On top of that, there will be a gross increase of between HUF 5 and 6 on Friday.
In one week, petrol will therefore cost HUF 9 and diesel HUF 11 more. This is not yet a significant change, but if we look at January as a whole, the picture is worse. In the first month of the year,
the price of petrol and diesel has already risen by HUF 46 and 51 per liter respectively.
It does not make much difference at the cash register, but the truth is that HUF 41 of this is due to the compulsory and EU-mandated excise duty increase. In any case, this also means that half of the gains from the fuel price cuts from September to January last year have already been lost: in that period, Hungarian fuel prices fell by around HUF 100-100 respectively.
