Although the law allows stores to be open until 2 p.m. on December 24, stores in the largest grocery chains (Aldi, Auchan, Lidl, Penny, Spar, Tesco) will close as early as 12 p.m. on Christmas Eve, with a few exceptions, according to a statement from the National Trade Federation.

National Trade Federation (OKSZ) member companies made this decision to help department store employees relax and prepare for their family celebrations.
They also need more rest because they have a heavier workload due to the epidemic,
it said in a statement.
Some craft businesses (e.g. furniture and home improvement stores) and smaller craft businesses will not be open on December 24.
On the days before the holidays, some stores will be open longer than usual. On the Golden Weekend, many stores that are normally closed on Sundays will also be open.
