An agreement on next year’s minimum wage rise has been reached, the Innovation and Technology Ministry said on Wednesday, after talks between employers, unions and the government.
The ministry said “significant progress” was made on hammering out the details of the wage agreement at the meeting on Wednesday. The draft will be finalised “in days” and the agreement can be signed by the middle of November, it added.
Under the agreement, the monthly minimum wage for unskilled workers and skilled labourers will rise by more than 19 percent to 200,000 forints (EUR 557) and 260,000 forints (EUR 724), respectively, from January 1, the ministry confirmed.
