Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), one of the world’s most prestigious higher education rating organizations, has recognized the outstanding employability prospects of Corvinus graduates. Data from the Hungarian Educational Authority show that Corvinus students have an exceptional wage advantage in Hungary: their average gross salary is the highest in the country, Világgazdaság reports.
This year, Corvinus University of Budapest received the award in the category “Employability – Performance Improvement.” According to the QS, the university has made significant strides in ensuring the high employability of its graduates, nurturing future leaders who will make a significant impact in their fields.
The award, presented at this year’s QS European Higher Education Summit in Sitges (near Barcelona), was accepted by Péter Fehér, International Head of Corvinus. Speaking at the award ceremony, he said: ‘This award is the result of a joint effort that my colleagues at the university are constantly working for, namely to ensure that Corvinus educates young graduates with marketable knowledge, motivated, ready to work and develop.”
“The labor market proves that we are on the right track: according to the data of the Educational Authority,
the salary advantage of Corvinus graduates is outstanding, on average they earn 207,000 forints more (530 euros more – ed.) than the average of all graduates of all economic education courses who have received a bachelor’s degree nine years ago, which makes the average gross salary of Corvinus graduates the highest in the country,”
said Richárd Szántó, Dean of Corvinus responsible for undergraduate studies, in connection with the award.
Looking at the earnings, it can be seen that among master’s degree holders, business graduates from Corvinus can also earn the most, on average up to 160-180,000 forints more (410-460 euros more) than graduates from similar master’s degree programs in Hungary. According to the latest data from the Educational Authority for 2023, the average salary of a finance graduate who has been at Corvinus for nine years is 1.1 million forints (2,822 euros) per month.
Two-thirds of Corvinus graduates find a job during their studies, and a fresh Corvinus degree can get a job in less than a month.
With a Corvinus degree in economics, you can earn up to 140% more than an average economics graduate.
The fact that it is easy to find a good job quickly with a Corvinus degree is reflected in the latest Financial Times 2023 ranking, with Corvinus’ Master’s in Management and Leadership ranking 17th in the world in terms of value for money. It also found that 99 percent of graduates with this degree were in employment within three months, and that two-thirds of those graduating in 2020 increased their earnings in the two to three years after graduation.
