Nine patients died of a Covid-related illness in the past 24 hours, while 679 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Friday.
The number of active infections stands at 7,539, while hospitals are treating 533 Covid patients, 84 of whom need respiratory assistance.
Since the first outbreak, 823,384 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 30,199. Fully 785,646 people have made a recovery.
So far 5,891,228 people have received a first jab, while 5,651,539 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 784,000 Hungarians have received a booster jab.
There are 6,476 people in official quarantine, while 6,947,933 tests have been officially carried out.
On May 21, the Hungarian government announced that most of Hungary’s remaining restrictions would be lifted upon reaching five million vaccinations. Further restrictions, such as the mask mandate, have been lifted as well after 5.5 million vaccinations were reached.
