Coronavirus: Two Fatalities, 82 New Cases Registered in Hungary

Two patients died in the past 24 hours, while 82 new infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.

Since the first outbreak, 811,203 infections have been registered, while the number of fatalities has risen to 30,054. Fully 772,241 people have made a recovery.

The number of active infections has declined to 8,908, while hospitals are treating 81 Covid patients, 11 of whom need respiratory assistance.

So far 5,703,883 people have received a first jab, while 5,503,365 have been fully vaccinated.

There are 942 people in official quarantine, while 6,504,169 tests have been officially carried out.

On May 21, the Hungarian government announced that most of Hungary’s remaining restrictions would be lifted upon reaching five million vaccinations. Further restrictions, such as the mask mandate, have been lifted as well after 5.5 million vaccinations were reached.
