Twenty-four patients died of Covid over the past 24 hours, while 2,548 new coronavirus infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Friday.
The number of active infections has risen to 19,491, while hospitals are treating 1,233 Covid patients, 169 of whom need respiratory assistance.
Since the first outbreak, 843,825 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 30,492. Fully 793,842 people have made a recovery.
So far 5,935,182 people have received a first jab, while 5,714,861 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 1,082,000 Hungarians have received a booster jab.
There are 17,984 people in official quarantine, while 7,236,933 tests have been officially carried out.
On May 21, the Hungarian government announced that most of Hungary’s remaining restrictions would be lifted upon reaching five million vaccinations. Further restrictions, such as the mask mandate, have been lifted as well after 5.5 million vaccinations were reached.
