Coronavirus: 51 Fatalities, 3,274 New Infections Registered Over the Weekend

Fifty-one patients died of Covid over the past 72 hours, while 3,274 new coronavirus infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.

The number of active infections has risen to 13,989, while hospitals are treating 908 Covid patients, 126 of whom need respiratory assistance.

Since the first outbreak, 836,389 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 30,402. Fully 791,998 people have made a recovery.

So far 5,924,063 people have received a first jab, while 5,700,021 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 997,000 Hungarians have received a booster jab.

There are 9,262 people in official quarantine, while 7,172,353 tests have been officially carried out.

On May 21, the Hungarian government announced that most of Hungary’s remaining restrictions would be lifted upon reaching five million vaccinations. Further restrictions, such as the mask mandate, have been lifted as well after 5.5 million vaccinations were reached.
