Fully 61 people with Covid-19 symptoms died last week, while 3,080 new infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said in a weekly release of data on Wednesday.

The number of active infections stands at 29,539, while hospitals are caring for 483 Covid-19 patients, 18 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the start of the coronavirus epidemic, 1,917,777 people have been officially confirmed as having contracted the virus, while the number of deaths has risen to 46,507. Fully 1,841,731 people have made a recovery.

Altogether 6,409,451 people have been vaccinated, with 6,195,684 having received a second jab, 3,875,291 a third, and 298,288 a fourth.

There are 523 people in official quarantine, while 11,394,556 tests have been officially carried out.
