Altogether 54 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the past 24 hours, while 2,632  new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Wednesday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 124,112, while hospitals are treating 2,617 Covid-19 patients, 118 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 44,549 deaths have been recorded, while 1,809,917 have been registered with the virus. Fully 1,641,256 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,397,806 people have received a first jab, while 6,176,649 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,823,111 Hungarians have received a booster jab.

There are 7,342 people in official quarantine, while 10,892,581 tests have been officially carried out.
