Altogether 59 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the past 24 hours, while 1,387 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 126,009, while hospitals are treating 2,766 Covid-19 patients, 114 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 44,495 deaths have been recorded, while 1,807,285 have been registered with the virus. Fully 1,636,781 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,397,623 people have received a first jab, while 6,176,191 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,822,108 Hungarians have received a booster jab.

There are 7,342 people in official quarantine, while 10,882,684 tests have been officially carried out.
