Altogether 40 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the past 24 hours, while 2,654 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Thursday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 99,675, while hospitals are treating 1,865 Covid-19 patients, 52 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 45,470 deaths have been recorded, while 1,851,871 have been registered with the virus. Fully 1706,726 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,402,359 people have received a first jab, while 6,186,939 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,843,426 Hungarians have received a booster jab and 258,423 have also received the fourth dose.

There are 8,412 people in official quarantine, while 11,115,682 tests have been officially carried out.
