Altogether 48 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the past 24 hours, while 1,730 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.

The number of active infections has increased to 100,193, while hospitals are treating 1,896 Covid-19 patients, 55 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 45,390 deaths have been recorded, while 1,846,311 have been registered with the virus. Fully 1,700,728 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,402,100 people have received a first jab, while 6,186,486 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,842,265 Hungarians have received a booster jab and 256,527 have also received the fourth dose.

There are 8,857 people in official quarantine, while 11,094,272 tests have been officially carried out.
