Altogether 38 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the past 24 hours, while 2,439  new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Friday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 100,707, while hospitals are treating 1,953 Covid-19 patients, 70 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 45,258 deaths have been recorded, while 1,839,358 have been registered with the virus. Fully 1,693,393 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,401,307 people have received a first jab, while 6,185,041 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,838,261 Hungarians have received a booster jab and 249,089 have also received the fourth dose.

There are 8,857 people in official quarantine, while 11,053,112 tests have been officially carried out.
