Coronavirus: 2 Fatalities, 32 New Infections Registered in Hungary

Two patients died over the past 24 hours in Hungary, while 32 new infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.

Nine cases of the coronavirus’ Delta variant have been identified in Hungary.

Since the first outbreak, 808,294 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 29,998. Fully 740,327 people have made a recovery.

The number of active infections has declined to 37,969, while hospitals are treating 88 Covid patients, 21 of whom need respiratory assistance.

There are 1,852 people in official quarantine, while 6,168,335 tests have been officially carried out.

So far 5,513,327 people have received a first jab, while 5,072,024 have been fully vaccinated.

On May 21, the Hungarian government announced that most of Hungary’s remaining restrictions would be lifted upon reaching five million vaccinations. Further restrictions, such as the mask mandate, have been lifted as well after 5.5 million vaccinations were reached.
