Coronavirus: One Fatality, 64 New Infections Registered in Hungary

One patient died in the past 24 hours, while 64 new infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Friday.

Since the first outbreak, 809,491 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 30,026. Fully 748,157 people have made a recovery.

The number of active infections has declined to 31,308, while hospitals are treating 78 Covid patients, 11 of whom need respiratory assistance.

So far 5,617,260 people have received a first jab, while 5,428,980 have been fully vaccinated.

There are 1,335 people in official quarantine, while 6,328,373 tests have been officially carried out.

On May 21, the Hungarian government announced that most of Hungary’s remaining restrictions would be lifted upon reaching five million vaccinations. Further restrictions, such as the mask mandate, have been lifted as well after 5.5 million vaccinations were reached.
