248 patients died of Covid over the past 72 hours, while 5,865 new coronavirus infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.
The number of active infections has decreased to 101,023, while hospitals are treating 3,313 Covid patients, 318 of whom are on ventilators.
Since the first outbreak, the number of fatalities has risen to 39,434, while 1,262,280 infections have been registered. Fully 1,121,823 people have made a recovery.
So far 6,266,483 people have received a first jab, while 5,982,104 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,178,228 Hungarians have received a booster jab.
There are 12,946 people in official quarantine, while 9,203,581 tests have been officially carried out.
The government re-introduced compulsory mask-wearing in enclosed spaces from November 20.
