Coronavirus: 73 Fatalities, 8,921 New Cases Reported in Hungary

73 patients died of Covid over the past 24 hours, while 8,921 new coronavirus infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Friday.

The number of active infections has risen to  128,268, while hospitals are treating 2,611 Covid patients, 243 of whom are on ventilators.

Since the first outbreak, the number of fatalities has risen to 40,237, while 1,327,014 infections have been registered. Fully 1,158,509 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,304,323 people have received a first jab, while 6,050,416 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,321,659 Hungarians have received a booster jab.

There are 44,692 people in official quarantine, while 9,448,157 tests have been officially carried out.

The government re-introduced compulsory mask-wearing in enclosed spaces from November 20.
