Coronavirus: 271 Fatalities, More than 21,000 New Infections Registered over the Weekend

Altogether 271 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the past 72 hours, while 21,081 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 223,810, while hospitals are treating 5,186 Covid-19 patients, 199 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 42,631 deaths have been recorded, while 1,717,072 have been registered with the virus. Fully 1,450,631 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,383,007 people have received a first jab, while 6,140,331 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,769,557 Hungarians have received a booster jab and 160,566 have also received the fourth dose.

There are 20,046 people in official quarantine, while 10,513,080 tests have been officially carried out.
