144 patients died of Covid over the past 24 hours, while 5,298 new coronavirus infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Thursday.
The number of active infections has decreased to 159,853, while hospitals are treating 6,109 Covid patients, 542 of whom are on ventilators.
Since the first outbreak, the number of fatalities has risen to 37,376, while 1,213,318 infections have been registered. Fully 1,016,089 people have made a recovery.
So far 6,200,040 people have received a first jab, while 5,914,603 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,043,950 Hungarians have received a booster jab.
There are 42,659 people in official quarantine, while 8,919,775 tests have been officially carried out.
The government re-introduced compulsory mask-wearing in enclosed spaces from November 20.
