Coronavirus: 195 Fatalities, More Than 16,000 New Cases Registered in Hungary

195 patients died of Covid over the past 24 hours, while 3,575 new coronavirus infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 168,918, while hospitals are treating 6,507 Covid patients, 563 of whom are on ventilators.

Since the first outbreak, the number of fatalities has risen to 37,079, while 1,202,514 infections have been registered. Fully 996,517 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,192,253  people have received a first jab, while 5,900,371 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,014,936 Hungarians have received a booster jab.

There are 40,518 people in official quarantine, while 8,868,961 tests have been officially carried out.

The government re-introduced compulsory mask-wearing in enclosed spaces from November 20.
