Coronavirus: 455 Fatalities, More Than 16,000 New Cases Registered Over the Weekend

455 patients died of Covid over the past 72 hours, while 16,017 new coronavirus infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 170,416, while hospitals are treating 6,531 Covid patients, 565 of whom are on ventilators.

Since the first outbreak, the number of fatalities has risen to 36,884, while 1,198,939 infections have been registered. Fully 991,639 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,190,822 people have received a first jab, while 5,893,531 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,005,109 Hungarians have received a booster jab.

There are 43,047 people in official quarantine, while 8,853,922 tests have been officially carried out.

The government re-introduced compulsory mask-wearing in enclosed spaces from November 20.
