Altogether 37 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the past 24 hours, while 2,568 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Thursday.

The number of active infections stands at 96,903, while hospitals are treating 1,724 Covid-19 patients, 51 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 1,865,607 have been registered with the virus, while 45,684 deaths have been recorded. Fully 1,723,020 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,403,667 people have received a first jab, while 6,188,807 have been double-jabbed. Fully 3,849,393 Hungarians have received a booster third shot and 269,465 a fourth shot.

There are 7,340 people in official quarantine, while 11,180,076 tests have been officially carried out.
